Over the last month, we’ve welcomed both Willem Stock, as a bioinformatician, Christophe Van Huffel, as busdev manager, and Bert Coessens, as technology advisor to the myNEO team! We’re eager to have you on board with us.
Willem Stock has, after his master in Biology, obtained his PhD specializing in molecular biology. He has worked intensively with sequencing data, including the modelling and downstream analyses of such data. He is the ideal candidate to join the myNEO bioinformatic team.
Christophe Van Huffel has 25 years of business development and R&D management experience in US and EU based genomics and oncology biopharmaceutical and biomanufacturing companies, investment banking and TTO’s. Christophe obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Brussels and did his post-doc in Bruce Beutler’s lab at the HHMI in Dallas during which he contributed to the identification of the TLR4 gene, an important discovery in the field of immunology which received the 2011 Nobel Prize in Medicine.
Bert Coessens has a background in molecular biology and a PhD in advanced statistical analysis of ‘omics’ data. He was one of the founders of Cartagenia, a joint spin-off from KU Leuven and UZ Leuven Center for Human Genetics. At Cartagenia he led the quickly growing bioinformatics and software development teams, while in parallel successfully introducing both an ISO13485 certified Quality Management System, as well as an ISO27001 certified Information Security Management System into the organization. In May 2015 Cartagenia was acquired by Agilent, where Bert served as a Software R&D Manager, and later became Software R&D Director in the Agilent Genomics business unit.
The progressive hiring at myNEO started beginning of 2019, and has been necessary to support our continuous innovation to optimize the clinical benefit delivered by our platform, and to sustain our current and future partnerships.
